Ernst Ludwig Kirchner

(1880-1938)

Due to horrible war experiences Kirchner had bad mental health which he expressed in his work. He had a sketchy, wiry technique, making use of heightened, intensified color. He was part of a group of Expressionists who called themselves „Die Brücke“– they connected the art of the past with that of the future.
