Juan Gris

(1887-1927)

Although Juan Gris was never a cubist by intention, he is one of the three inventors of the style. Most of his subjects are still lifes and his palette is dark, with lots of blues and browns. His works have complex geometric designs with images slipping in and out of the different planes.
