    Period: Baroque

Rubens usually painted in large scale and was a very active painter creating a huge number of works that nowadays can be seen in museums all around the world. Rubens’s’ fluid brushwork and luscious coloring as well as the rich emotion of his compositions contributed to his reputation as the greatest Baroque painter north of the Alps.
